A court in Gurugram has denied bail to the millionaire businessman. The businessman was accused by his chartered accountant wife of serial marital rape, forced extramarital intercourse, cruelty and dowry abuse. The victim even alleged that her husband went beyond all cruelty and stabbed her sensitive parts with a cigarette.
Ahmedabad City Sessions Court in Gujarat heard the matter. Although the accused businessman applied for bail, the court rejected the bail application of the influential and millionaire businessman of Gurugram. In its verdict, the court said that since the marriage, the accused has been continuously abusing his wife mentally and physically. The abuse escalated to such an extent that while the victim was waiting for a flight to her father’s home at the airport, the accused continued to harass her through video calls and text messages. The businessman kept an eye on his wife via video call and asked who was sitting next to her and how old she was. Every moment he kept a close eye on his wife.
The victim, who was married to a billionaire businessman, who currently resides in Ahmedabad, filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws’ family in this regard at the Ahmedabad DCB Crime Branch last year. After receiving the complaint, the accused businessman approached the Gujarat High Court to avoid arrest. In his anticipatory bail application, he described himself as a big business tycoon and millionaire who runs a big corporate guest house business. However, the accused had no choice but to surrender to the police this month when the High Court rejected his plea. The court then sent him to four-day police custody. He again applied for regular bail in the sessions court but prosecutor Sudhir Brahmabhatra strongly opposed it considering the seriousness of the crime.
After the hearing, City Sessions Judge PB Patel rejected the bail plea and made strong remarks about the unusual and suspicious behavior of the accused husband. He said the victim was subjected to constant digital surveillance by her husband. According to the court order, the woman has to send a live location and location photo to her husband whenever she goes out of her house or for any other work. She also had to tell her husband who was present around her. Also, the judge found the allegations of forced intercourse and unnatural sexual abuse very serious and heinous. “Prima facie, this is a very clear and serious case of spousal physical and mental abuse, hence the accused cannot be granted any bail,” the court said.
The most surprising aspect of the entire incident came to light when it came to light that it was the accused’s second marriage and that he kept the first marriage a secret. The victim later learned that the businessman’s first wife had made exactly the same heinous, inhuman and abusive allegations against him and his family, leading to their divorce. Ahmedabad DCB Crime Branch is currently investigating the incident.
