The CBI is currently investigating the death of former actress Tisha Sharma. Her husband Samarth Singh was interrogated by the police and several important facts came to light. Samarth told the police that Tisha’s behavior had changed since she became pregnant in April and she was mentally broken after the miscarriage. Samarth also claimed that he paid Rs 7 lakh to his wife, but did not clarify the reason for the payment. The CBI registered a fresh case after the Supreme Court ordered an impartial and transparent probe into the incident.
On May 12, 33-year-old Tisha’s body was found at her in-laws’ house. While the husband’s family claimed it was suicide, Tisha’s parents alleged that she was physically and mentally abused for dowry. Samarth, who was arrested from Jabalpur after being on the run for almost 10 days, is currently in police custody. Many of the answers given by Samarth during interrogation were found to be consistent with the statements given to the police earlier by his mother and former District Judge Giribala Singh.
During interrogation, Samarth said that their relationship was completely normal for the first few months of marriage. But trouble started on April 17 when Tisha found out she was pregnant. According to Samarth, Tuisha often talks about her past glamor world and feels uncomfortable ending up as an ordinary housewife. Samarth also revealed that they were supposed to go to Bengaluru together in April, but Tisha suddenly decided to visit her brother in Ajmer, Rajasthan. Samarth later learns that Tisha was only in Ajmer for a day and left for Delhi without informing him, further escalating the conflict between the two.
Narrating the incident of May 12 night, Samarth said that everything was normal that day. After dinner together, they walked home and watched TV. Samarth then falls asleep and Tisha goes downstairs to talk to her mother on the phone. Trisha’s mother got worried and called Samarth’s mother. Samarth and his mother went to find Tisha hanging from the roof. He was rushed to AIIMS Bhopal but doctors declared him brought dead. After the incident, Samarth switched off his mobile phone and hid in Jabalpur for almost a week to avoid the police. He is yet to reveal who sheltered him while he was on the run. The police have registered a case against Samarth and his mother on charges of dowry demand and harassment.
