The Assam Sahitya Sabha on Sunday welcomed former President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, Padma Shri recipient and eminent writer Rangbang Terong to Guwahati.

A former president of the society, Padma Shri recipient Dr. Suryakant Hazarika said, “Rongbang Terang is a lifelong literary practitioner. He is a lifelong literary figure, I hope there will be more.”
Writer-journalist Deepak Kumar Sharma of Parag Jyoti Prakashan and former treasurer of Assam Sahitya Sabha and poet-critic Kishore Kumar Jain were present on the occasion.
Journalist-writer Deepak Sharma said: Terang Sir’s thoughts are universal. They wish Rangbang Terang good health and long life.
“I am happy to be with my loved ones today. I am very happy,” said Terang, creator of Rangmili’s Smile. He mentions that he has started writing a new novel titled “Kakadeutaar Changhar”. More concerned about the younger generation, Terang said, “We have to guide the newcomers by the elders. Only the new generation can make the society orderly.
