NEET will be held again today (Sunday). But suicide continues even before that. Now the dead body of a NEET candidate was recovered from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. His body was found just two days before the exam. Another body of a young woman was recovered from Indore. He was also preparing for the exam.
The medical admission test was canceled on May 3 due to the question paper leak. Therefore, it was announced that a new National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) would be conducted. Many candidates have committed suicide after the cancellation of the exam.
The dead body of the NEET candidate was recovered from Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore on Wednesday. Earlier, the body of the brilliant student was found in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun. Rhea Kumari Thapa was also supposed to appear for RE-NET.
And just two days before the exam, another candidate committed suicide in Ghaziabad, the police said. The body of Jatin Kumar (22) was recovered from his house, police said on Saturday. He lived in H block of a house in Pratap Vihar under Vijayanagar police station.
He had sat the exam several times before. Although he failed, Jatin was preparing for the exam again. Area ACP Upsana Pandey said the candidate had recorded a video on his mobile phone before committing suicide. There, the candidate said that he was disappointed after failing to clear NEET. His family said Yatin was still preparing for Sunday’s exam despite being disappointed.
Another NEET candidate committed suicide in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Avantika Maurya, 21, committed suicide by jumping from a high-rise building. According to police sources, he was suffering from mental problems for the past few months. After the cancellation of NEET-UG, his frustration increased. Avantika took an extreme decision on Friday night. Family members also said that Avantika wanted to become a doctor. He was disappointed that he could not clear NEET in the last three years. The young woman from Dhar district rented a house in Indore to prepare for the exam.
Meanwhile, NEET will be held again on Sunday at 5,440 centers in 551 cities across the country. This time, the authorities will take several steps to prevent question paper leakage or any related incident from happening.

According to the data, 12 NIT candidates have committed suicide in the last 37 days.
