Addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner Swapneel Paul said two designated camps have been set up for devotees, one at the backside of Kamakhya Railway Station and another at Pandu Port. The camps will provide accommodation facilities, including bedding, toilets, sanitation services and community meals (bhandara). ASTC buses will operate between the two camps to facilitate movement of devotees if one camp reaches capacity. He further stated that Pandu College has been identified as a contingency accommodation site and may be converted into a third camp if the two designated camps reach full capacity.
The DC informed that food in-charges will be deployed at all camps, while officials from the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department will oversee drinking water supply and sanitation water arrangements. Designated magistrates will also be stationed to monitor facilities.
Devotees staying at the camps will be allowed entry to the temple through the Nursery Road route. However, no transport service will be provided from the camps directly to the temple, and ASTC buses will only operate between the camps.
He further added, to assist visitors, shoe-keeping stalls will be set up beneath the Nilachal Flyover.
Four control rooms will also be established along the pilgrimage route at Nursery Point, Hill Top, West Gate and Prashaanti tourist Lodge. Officials from PHE, GMC, APDCL and PWD will be present at these locations to address any issues.
Seven help desks will be set up across key points, providing drinking water, rest facilities and first aid services. Each help desk will be staffed by three personnel. Magistrates and officials will remain on duty in important locations, including Trinath Point, Bangshibagan and West Gate.
Authorities said carpeting and road dividers will be installed along the route, while water sprinkling measures adopted in previous years will continue. In view of the prevailing heat conditions, Jal Board authorities will lay water pipelines from the main gate towards the temple, with around 30 water points available for devotees.
Emergency medical services will remain on standby round-the-clock, with ambulances deployed 24×7. Emergency service vehicles will use the Bangshibagan route for swift access.
For security arrangements, Sonaram Field has been designated as the deboarding point for police personnel, from where ferry vehicles will transport officers and staff to the temple area. The main police camp for the mela will be located at Naharbari.
The administration said the measures have been planned to ensure safety, convenience and adequate facilities for the large number of devotees expected to attend the annual religious congregation.
