50th Ganesh Puja Celebration to Be Held at Central Gotanagar in Guwahati’s Maligaon


 

GUWAHATI: The Dr. B R Ambedkar Boys Star Committee has announced its Golden Jubilee, 50th Ganesh Puja Celebration, marking 50 years of devotion and community service from 1975 to 2025. As part of the milestone celebration, the committee will install a grand 41-feet Murty of Lord Ganesha, described as "a symbol of faith, unity and prosperity," at Central Gotanagar, Maligaon, near Ram Mandir.

The celebration is being planned with an estimated budget of around ₹15 Lakhs .

The week-long festivities will be held from 14th September to 20th September, 2026, with a series of cultural and devotional events planned each day:

14th September (Monday): Puja Celebration from 10 a.m.
15th September (Tuesday): Rangoli and Musical Chair Competition at 5 p.m.
16th September (Wednesday): Bhandara distribution from 12 p.m.
17th September (Thursday): Drawing Competition
18th September (Friday): Dance Competition
19th September (Saturday): Zubeen Da Shradhanjali at 5:30 p.m., following prize distribution
20th September (Sunday): Idol Bisarjan

The celebration will also feature daily Aarti, Bhajans and Prasad distribution, a grandly decorated pandal, and cultural programmes aimed at fostering unity and togetherness within the community. A special tribute, "Zubeen Da Shradhanjali," has been included in the schedule in memory of celebrated Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, who passed away in September 2025 and remains a beloved cultural icon of Assam.

The organising committee has extended a cordial invitation to devotees and their families to join the celebrations, seek Bappa's blessings, and be part of what they describe as a grand and memorable Golden Jubilee year.
