A video and claim of former BJP leader Manish Kashyap has gone viral on social media. Here he questioned the government’s policy on the E20 ethanol-blended petrol introduced in India.
The viral video alleges that the country’s petrol pumps may be prone to pollution. The video claims that pure petrol and ethanol petrol will be offered as separate options for consumers.
The government sees the blending of ethanol in petrol as a major step to reduce dependence on imports and protect the environment. According to viral claims, he bought a Toyota car worth around Rs 40 lakh and paid up to Rs 18 lakh in tax on it. Subsequently, the vehicle broke down after only 20,000 km and was reportedly linked to the addition of too much ethanol to the fuel.
People have also commented on this video. Of course, according to automobile experts and government policy, this claim is considered one-sided and not technically proven. Because modern E20-fuel-compatible vehicles are built on this fuel.
