GUWAHATI: Instagram has unveiled a new wordmark, on Thursday, August 13, marking its first change to the app’s lettering in a decade. The updated design replaces the platform’s familiar cursive-style typeface with a mix of cursive and print lettering.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the wordmark had remained unchanged for 10 years and needed a refresh. He described the new design as “cleaner and more modern,” while retaining elements of Instagram’s original identity.
The redesign has already sparked reactions online, with several users joking that the new lettering appears to read “Instagzam” rather than “Instagram.”
The last major Instagram design update came in 2016, when the platform replaced its classic brown camera logo with the colourful pink gradient icon that remains in use today.
