GUWAHATI: A Ganesh Puja pandal in Guwahati's Pandu will focus on the growing problem of mobile phone addiction and its impact on society, particularly among children. The theme will highlight how excessive smartphone use can affect children’s physical and mental well-being, social interactions and everyday lives, while encouraging greater awareness among parents and the community.

The idol will be 10 feet tall, with artisans from New Coochbehar working on the installation. The puja will be held from September 14 to 17, with an estimated budget ₹7 lakh.
The theme aims to use the festive platform to send a social message about responsible smartphone use and the need to prevent children from becoming overly dependent on digital devices.
The puja is being organised by the Azad Hind Club Ganesh Puja Committee.
