Nearly a square foot of the iron-made culvert has caved in, leaving a dangerous opening along the busy stretch.
To prevent accidents, locals have placed a stick and a sack near the damaged portion to alert commuters and guide vehicles away from the spot.
A roadside vendor told GPlus that the manhole has remained in the same condition for more than a week and that some people have reportedly been injured while passing through the area.
The damaged culvert has raised concerns over commuter safety, particularly as the stretch witnesses heavy movement of vehicles throughout the day.
