GMC Acts After GPlus Report, Fines Builder Over Footpath Obstruction in Guwahati's Birubari


 

GUWAHATI: A day after GPlus reported the poor condition of the footpath along AK Azad Road at Birubari Tiniali, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has swiftly acted against the obstruction caused by construction materials.

On Friday, August 14, GMC imposed a penalty for the unauthorised dumping of concrete materials on the public road in Ward 19, where a building is currently under construction.

Taking to X, GMC wrote, “Guwahati Municipal Corporation has imposed a penalty for the unauthorized dumping of concrete materials on the public road at AK Azad Road, Ward 19.”

The civic body also urged residents and construction agencies to refrain from obstructing public roads and footpaths with construction materials.

The action comes a day after GPlus highlighted how construction materials had left the footpath in a dilapidated and unusable condition, affecting pedestrian movement in the area.
