An FIR has been lodged against the accused for embezzling donations collected in the name of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The case was registered on the recommendation of the preliminary investigation report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The complaint was filed by Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust. Shri Krishna Mohan, one of the members of the trust filed a complaint at the police station. The authorities have registered the case based on the information revealed in the SIT’s preliminary investigation.
The case has been registered under various sections of the new Criminal Code, Indian Judicial Code as directed by the Uttar Pradesh government. These clauses are 306, 316(5), 317(4), 317(5), 61, and 3(5).
The investigation team submitted the preliminary investigation report to the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday. Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Biswas Pant handed over the report to Additional Chief Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad. Sanjay Prasad is also an ex-officio member of the Trust.
