A young man has been arrested for posting fake photos of a young woman and her mother he met online on social media. The accused is a resident of Delhi and his name is Sumit Nemchand Sharma. He usually makes videos on religious topics and shares them online. That’s how he got to know the girl from Gujarat. Finally, the Ahmedabad Cyber Crimes Branch police raided and arrested the accused Sumit.
The couple met while discussing religious topics online. But gradually changing the subject, the young man wants to develop a close relationship with the young woman. The young woman immediately rejected his proposal. The victim’s name is Sumit (28) of Narsinghpur.
According to investigating police sources, Sumit, who was following the girl on social media from December to April, collected various casual pictures of the girl and her mother. They then use AI or artificial intelligence found on the internet to create hundreds of fake nude photos and videos of young women and mothers from those images. Accused Sumit then opened a total of eight fake accounts on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and X and started spreading nude pictures and videos.
The victim contacted the cyber crime branch in Ahmedabad. A complaint was filed in the first week of May after which the police quickly started an investigation. The police eventually tracked down the accused and arrested him. Sumit is currently being booked under several stringent sections of the Indian Justice Code and the Information Technology Act.
