All India Football Federation will be renamed‘Are you going? Such a possibility appears now. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Saturday decided to change the name of the federation to Indian Football Federation. The Football Federation is all set to approach the Union Sports Ministry in this regard.
The proposal to change the name was approved at the special general meeting of the federation held in New Delhi. However, the name change will require the approval of the Union Sports Ministry and FIFA‘B. Resolutions must also be passed in the executive committee. Federation president Kalyan Choubey said they have started the process and if the sports ministry approves, the matter will be forwarded to FIFA. He also noted that countries such as Türkiye and the Czech Republic have changed the names of their football associations in the past.
The meeting also decided to start the Indian Super League from September. A total of fourteen teams in this league will play matches at home and on their home grounds for about seven months. However, the future structure of the league is yet to be finalised. For now, this is the club’s problemis left to the federation and the governing body. The constitution of the federation is also expected to be amended by June
