GUWAHATI: The Assam government is planning to construct a 10-kilometre flyover between Jalukbari and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati to improve connectivity and reduce travel time.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the proposed project, stating that the infrastructure project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion on the busy airport route and cut travel time to just 7–10 minutes.
Speaking about the initiative, the Chief Minister said that Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has assured full support for the project. Sarma added that the proposal was discussed during his recent visit to Delhi, where Gadkari expressed commitment to ensuring its implementation.
The proposed flyover is expected to enhance access to the airport and improve overall urban mobility in Guwahati. However, the government has not yet announced a timeline for the commencement or completion of the project.
