A woman doctor died in Jalandhar city of Punjab. It is not clear whether it was suicide or murder. However, the young woman’s family has accused her husband of having an illicit relationship. This creates chaos. Allegations of mental and physical torture were also raised against the doctor.
The deceased doctor’s name is Meenakshi. Her husband Piyush is also a doctor. He is the head of the National Eye Hospital, Jalandhar. Meenakshi starts living separately due to lack of understanding.
The victim’s body was found hanging in his house on Wednesday. All the doors and windows of the house were locked, police said. The policemen finally entered by breaking the glass window of one of the rooms.
According to investigators, Piyush and Meenakshi got married in October. The victim’s family alleged that Piyush had an affair with a hospital nurse. Meenakshi saw the CCTV footage of the close relationship. When questioned about the incident, Piyush beat his wife. He also confessed the matter to Meenakshi’s parents. This worsened their relationship.
