GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has regulated several train services due to flooding in Assam's Sivasagar district, where continuous rainfall has caused waterlogging over railway tracks in the Lumding Division.

According to an official press release issued by the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), NFR, train operations have been affected after floodwaters submerged sections of the railway track. To ensure passenger safety, speed restrictions have been imposed and train services have been regulated,
diverted, short-terminated and cancelled.
Diverted Trains
The following trains have been diverted via alternate routes:
> Train No. 12423 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express, commencing its journey on July 19, has been diverted via New Tinsukia – Dibrugarh – North Lakhimpur – Rangapara North – Guwahati.
> Train No. 20503 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express, commencing its journey on July 19, has been diverted via Moran Hat – Dhamalgaon – North Lakhimpur – Rangapara North – Guwahati.
> Train No. 22504 Dibrugarh–Kanniyakumari Vivek Express, commencing its journey on July 19, has been diverted via New Tinsukia – Dibrugarh – North Lakhimpur – Rangapara North – Rangiya – New Bongaigaon.
> Train No. 15903 Dibrugarh–Chandigarh Express, Train No. 15909 Dibrugarh–Lalgarh Avadh Assam Express, and Train No. 22504 Dibrugarh–Kanniyakumari Vivek Express, commencing their journeys on July 20, have been diverted via Dibrugarh – North Lakhimpur – Rangapara North – Rangiya – New Bongaigaon.
> Train No. 15945 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus–Dibrugarh Express and Train No. 15910 Lalgarh–Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express, commencing their journeys on July 18, have been diverted via New Bongaigaon – Rangiya – Rangapara North – North Lakhimpur – Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 22503 Kanniyakumari–Dibrugarh Vivek Express, commencing its journey on July 17, has been diverted via New Bongaigaon – Rangiya – Rangapara North – North Lakhimpur – Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 15959 Howrah–Dibrugarh Kamrup Express and Train No. 12424 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, commencing their journeys on July 19, have been diverted via New Bongaigaon – Rangiya – Rangapara North – North Lakhimpur – Dibrugarh.
Short-Terminated / Originated Trains
NFR has also announced the short termination and short origination of several services, including:
> Train No. 13281 Dibrugarh–Rajendra Nagar Express, commencing its journey on July 20, has been short originated from Namtiali and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Namtiali.
> Train No. 15670 Dibrugarh–Guwahati Nagaland Express, commencing its journey on July 20, has been short originated from Dimapur and will remain cancelled between Dibrugarh and Dimapur.
> Train No. 15959 Howrah–Dibrugarh Kamrup Express, commencing its journey on July 18, has been short terminated at Mariani Junction and will remain cancelled between Mariani Junction and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 15934 Amritsar–New Tinsukia Express, commencing its journey on July 17, has been short terminated at Mariani Junction and will remain cancelled between Mariani Junction and New Tinsukia.
> Train No. 22503 Kanniyakumari–Dibrugarh Vivek Express, commencing its journey on July 16, has been short terminated at Selenghat and will remain cancelled between Selenghat and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 13282 Rajendra Nagar–Dibrugarh Express, commencing its journey on July 18, has been short terminated at Namtiali and will remain cancelled between Namtiali and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 20504 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, commencing its journey on July 18, has been short terminated at Furkating and will remain cancelled between Furkating and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 15669 Guwahati–Dibrugarh Nagaland Express, commencing its journeys on July 18 and July 19, has been short terminated at Dimapur and will remain cancelled between Dimapur and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 12424 New Delhi–Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, commencing its journey on July 18, has been short terminated at Dimapur and will remain cancelled between Dimapur and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 15910 Lalgarh–Dibrugarh Avadh Assam Express, commencing its journey on July 17, has been short terminated at Lumding and will remain cancelled between Lumding and Dibrugarh.
> Train No. 12423 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express and Train No. 20505 Dibrugarh–New Delhi Rajdhani Express, commencing their journeys on July 20, have been short originated from Guwahati and Rangiya, respectively, and will depart as per their scheduled timings.
The trains will either originate or terminate at intermediate stations as notified by the railway administration.
Cancelled Trains
The following trains have been cancelled due to the prevailing situation:
> Train No. 55914 Tinsukia–Jorhat Town Passenger
> Train No. 75602 Tinsukia–Lumding DEMU
> Train No. 15604 Ledo–Guwahati Intercity Express
> Train No. 15968 Ledo–Rangiya Intercity Express
> Train No. 55910 Dibrugarh–Simaluguri Passenger
> Train No. 55913 Jorhat Town–Tinsukia Passenger
> Train No. 75601 Lumding–Tinsukia DEMU
> Train No. 15927 Rangiya–New Tinsukia Intercity Express
> Train No. 55909 Simaluguri–Dibrugarh Passenger
> Train No. 13281 Dibrugarh–Rajendra Nagar Express
> Train No. 15960 Dibrugarh–Howrah Kamrup Express, commencing its journey on July 20.
> Train No. 15603 Guwahati–Ledo Intercity Express, commencing its journey on July 19.
NFR said restoration work is in progress and train services will be resumed once track conditions become safe.
The railway also informed that more than 4,900 passengers travelling on affected trains have been provided with food, drinking water and other assistance at stations. Additional staff have been deployed to help stranded passengers, and buses have been arranged at selected locations where feasible.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their trains through official railway enquiry channels before commencing their journey.
