A woman police constable was found dead in her rented house in Guwahati’s Panikhati area on Sunday.
The woman, Deepmani Heera (26) of Panikhati police station, was living alone in a rented house for the past three years.
According to initial information, her husband, who lives in Nagaon, became worried on Sunday morning after repeatedly trying to contact her. He later informed the landlord and requested to look into the situation.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar, a resident of the area. A note was reportedly recovered from the scene, but officials have not released its contents.
The body will be sent for post-mortem in the presence of a magistrate to ascertain the cause of death, officials said. Forensic experts and senior police officers also visited the scene as part of the investigation.
The circumstances of the death are still unknown, and further investigations are underway.
