The marriage lasted only a month and a half, for forty-seven days. The mysterious death of a newly married woman has created a stir in Maharashtra’s Ambernath area. The hanging body of the 26-year-old woman was found from her father-in-law’s house. The father’s family alleged that the girl was subjected to physical and mental torture for demanding additional dowry after marriage.

Not only that, her doctor husband installed CCTV cameras inside and outside the house to keep a close eye on his wife’s movements every moment! Unable to bear the pressure of torture and suffocating condition, the woman allegedly committed suicide.
The police have already arrested the deceased’s husband Dr. Nitin Tilak, father-in-law and brother-in-law. The dead girl’s name is Visakha Tilak. Last April, Visakha got married to Nitin, a doctor by profession
According to Visakha’s family, the relationship between the two families was very sweet and normal until the marriage. But when Vishakha steps into her in-laws home after marriage, the situation changes drastically. From the beginning, her husband and in-laws expressed dissatisfaction with the wedding gifts and other transactional items.
Visakha was allegedly constantly pressured to bring more gold and cash from her father’s house. Failure to meet the demands was followed by extreme psychological harassment and threats.
The torture did not end there, Visakha’s husband Dr. Nitin suppressed her freedom completely. Visakha’s father’s family claimed that Nitin installed multiple CCTV cameras inside and outside the house to monitor what Visakha was doing and who she was talking to throughout the day. He monitors all Visakha’s movements remotely through a mobile app.
If you see Vishakha talking to a neighbor or anyone else, it is a lot of trouble because she would be beaten out of words besides demanding an explanation as to why she is talking. Police said Visakha was brutally beaten by her husband and in-laws for talking to neighbors just two days before her death.
Visakha’s body was found hanging from a lock of her in-laws’ house on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Arun Kumar, a resident of Shivjinagar police station. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem. After initial investigation, the police said that several CCTV cameras were found in the house and the preliminary assumption is that the husband was indeed monitoring his wife in this way.
Visakha’s family has filed a case against her husband Dr. Nitin Tilak, father-in-law Shaya Tilak and brother Ninad Tilak under various sections of the Penal Code, including abetment of suicide and harassment for demanding dowry. Police arrested three people on Wednesday.
Police said they are examining all digital equipment and CCTV footage of the house and collecting evidence. Whether there is any other mystery behind the incident is also being investigated.
