GUWAHATI: American rock icons Foo Fighters have officially announced their first-ever concerts in India, ending years of speculation among fans. The band, fronted by Dave Grohl, will perform in Bengaluru on January 29, 2027, as part of Bengaluru LIVE, followed by a show at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course on January 31, 2027.
The announcement follows a series of teasers from Bandland, the festival and touring platform behind the events. The concerts will be presented under Bandland on Tour, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live.
Joining Foo Fighters on both dates will be New York-based rock band The Pretty Reckless and Austin punk-rock outfit Die Spitz. Bengaluru audiences will also see performances from Pinkshift and folk-rock musician Alain Johannes, while Mumbai’s lineup includes Goa rock band Still In Therapy and singer-songwriter Mali.
The India shows come as part of the band's ongoing Take Cover world tour and follow the release of their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, earlier this year. The tour also includes appearances at major international festivals such as Pinkpop in the Netherlands and Rock in Rio in Brazil.
The current Foo Fighters lineup features Dave Grohl, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee and drummer Ilan Rubin. The band is expected to bring its signature high-energy live performance to Indian audiences after completing a run of shows in Australia and New Zealand.
In a statement, Grohl expressed his excitement about finally performing in the country. “After 31 years as a band, we can’t wait to finally play for our fans in India. It’s taken a few years, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait. We hope Bengaluru and Mumbai are ready for a couple of very long, very loud nights,” he said.
Interest in a Foo Fighters India tour has persisted for years. Back in 2019, guitarist Chris Shiflett told Rolling Stone India that discussions about an India visit had taken place but never materialized. He added that performing in new destinations remained one of his favorite parts of touring and said he would gladly sign up for an India tour if the opportunity arose.
Fans attending the concerts can expect an extensive setlist featuring some of the band's biggest hits, including “Everlong,” “The Pretender,” “Times Like These,” “My Hero,” “Best of You,” and “Walk.” Their live shows typically run for over two hours.
Tickets for both the Bengaluru and Mumbai concerts will go on sale through BookMyShow on June 16, 2026.
