Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh has created a stir due to a terrible road accident. At least three people, including a five-year-old child, were killed and five critically injured when a speeding truck rammed worshipers at a Hanuman temple in Milak Savi village in the district on Tuesday. The accident took place when some people were listening to ‘Sundarkanda’ at a roadside temple.
Police said around 20-25 people were present at the spot during the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Akhilesh Bhadoria said devotees, including women and children, were sitting in a makeshift mandap when a speeding truck loaded with stones lost control and hit a tree and then fell into the mandap. Panic spread among the fans present in this incident.
The deceased have been identified as Param Singh (70), Mohipal (42) and five-year-old Aryveer. The incident took place around 10.30 am when Aryveer Dudh was visiting her grandparents’ house in Chavi village. Five more people injured in the accident were immediately rescued and treated.
The police recovered the bodies of the victims and sent them for post-mortem. The injured have been admitted to hospital and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
