The Chief Minister made an important announcement in the Assam Assembly regarding the restructuring of the State Revenue Administration. He clarified that, In future, each assembly constituency will have a corresponding revenue circle, similar to the panchayat boundaries. Constituencies that do not have their own revenue circles, New revenue circles will be formed between them‘b. The main objective of this decision is to streamline the revenue administration, Responsible and people oriented.
The Chief Minister told the House, Currently, in many constituencies in Assam, the geographical boundaries of the Rajshahi circle do not match the boundaries of the assembly constituencies. As a result land related activities, rent, registration, the lease, Disaster Management, Election preparation, There are administrative complications in the implementation of government projects. To overcome this difficulty, the government decided to align the revenue circle boundaries with the electoral boundaries of 108 assembly constituencies. Each of the 14 assembly constituencies excluding revenue circles will have one new revenue circle‘b.
The Chief Minister also told the Parliament that, A list of constituencies without revenue circles has already been prepared. Necessary instructions have been issued to all District Commissioners in this regard. The government has ordered the completion of the first phase within a week after the flood situation normalizes. He said, Dr, This entire process has been initiated by the government immediately and will be completed on priority basis‘b.
The Chief Minister also gave a political message during the announcement. He clarified that, This restructuring is a policy decision of the government; Therefore, any MLA should take political credit for this in their respective constituencies‘B doesn’t have to. Over the past few years, it has been alleged that parts of many assembly constituencies have been divided into sub-divisions.
