GUWAHATI: The Basistha Police have conducted an anti-drug operation and seized a substantial quantity of marijuana from a rented house in the Kheraikuchi area of Guwahati.

During the raid, police recovered approximately six kilograms of marijuana suspected to be intended for illegal distribution. A mobile phone believed to be linked to the alleged drug trafficking network was also seized during the operation.
Police arrested one individual identified as Atiq Sahadat Majumder, a resident of Hailakandi district, in connection with the case. He was taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking activities.
The contraband was recovered following specific inputs, prompting a search operation at the rented accommodation. The seized materials have been taken into police custody and further investigation is underway.
