GUWAHATI: Several areas across Guwahati witnessed severe waterlogging on Friday morning, May 15, after a brief spell of rain triggered artificial floods in different parts of the city.

Floodwaters submerged multiple roads, lanes, and residential areas, disrupting normal life and causing major inconvenience to commuters. In several low-lying localities, knee-deep water was reported, with floodwater also entering homes.
Vehicular movement slowed down significantly in many parts of the city as inundated streets led to traffic congestion and difficulty for pedestrians. Residents once again raised concerns over Guwahati’s recurring artificial flood problem, which continues to affect the city even after short periods of rainfall.
