Pakistan was punished by a big loss to India in the Women’s World Cup. Pakistan beat India 1-0 in Women’s T20 World Cup in Birmingham, England. Pakistan has been fined in this incident. They are penalized for not completing the over within the stipulated time.
Pakistan bowled one over less than the allotted time. According to the International Cricket Council’s Code of Conduct, a team is fined five per cent of the match fee for each over if they fail to complete the innings within the stipulated time. Hence Pakistan’s match fee has been reduced by five percent. International Cricket Council match referee Trudy Anderson announced the penalty. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana accepted the punishment without a formal hearing.
The Indian women’s team started their World Cup campaign in Birmingham with the aim of winning. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and decided to bat first. The team was slow in the first innings but eventually India scored 170 runs. Pakistan responded by chasing a target of 170 runs without playing the full 20 overs. Pakistan lost all wickets for just 106 runs in 17 overs. Deepti Sharma’s amazing bowling was behind India’s historic win. He took five wickets for just 10 runs in four overs, including three in the 17th over. India got off to a good start in the World Cup by beating Pakistan by 64 runs.
